It is not necessary to worry – it is not necessary to learn musical literacy (but it will not be superfluous). For DJing, it is enough to know a few simple things about the structure of music. You need to understand what a bit is, a bar, and a phrase. If you do not go into specifics, and explain it as simply as possible: the phrase contains a bar (bar), and the bar contains shares (bits). In modern music, almost every measure consists of eight parts, and the phrase – of four or eight bars. So we get a simple account: one, two, three, four; one, two, three, four. It is in time. Repeat four times and the phrase turns out. In a musical structure, phrases usually denote changes in the structure, such as the addition of a new instrument or the beginning of a vocal part.
