Barney Bubbles Benefit Memorial Concert Many thanks to all of you who attended the Barney Bubbles memorial concert in London. Nik played with a headline set of classic space rock with the Hawklords, featuring former members of Hawkwind. He also played sets with Inner City Unit and the Imperial Pompodours. Both of these bands featured founder members Judge Trev and Dino Ferrari, alongside longtime bassist and Barney Bubbles collaborator Nazar Ali Khan. The event also featured Quintessence, Gerry Fitzgerald and Lol Coxhill, the Pentameter Players and Trev & Kev.
Ai Carumba! Thunder Rider is currently recording an album of Mexican mariachi tunes at Back Bedroom Studio in Cardigan.
Robert Calvert Memorial Concert
Nik Turner and Adrian Shaw Nik Turner and Friends played the music of Robert Calvert at a memorial gig for Robert on Sunday 28th Sept at Kings Hall in Herne Bay, commemorating the twentieth anniversary of the death of the Hawkwind poet and vocalist. Players from Pentameters Theatre performed two plays by Robert - "The Stars that Play with Laughing Sam's Dice" and "Cattle at Twilight".
